Images using language that calls for the views, smells, sounds, etc., in mind readers who appeal to physics "sense." * Like to compare the success of "sweet nectar" Lines 1 and 3, or lines 1-4 Stanza * Using the view of the image of "purple" and "banner" to represent the victors / victoria * Sound distant strains "of a triumphal march heard by a soldier defeated in the last two stanzas are compared claiming victory with those who are defeated, arguing that success / victory is more expensive valued by the soldier who knows defeat.
