With the proliferation of Internet, has become very common now for people to use tests online profiles or tools to test further skills and abilities of potential sales candidates to go through the hiring process. Many people ask me if these tools are valid, and what they are is useful.

Here are my thoughts: First, there are a lot of different tools out there and we've experimented with several of them. Some work and some do not, what needs to be careful when you are evaluating online sales tools. What we find is that not all they are up to snuff. Usually, through online sales test or profile is a good practice tool for the recruitment of sales professionals. Many people go through the interview process only and not to diversify the sources of information they are getting, as sales of the interview candidates. The profile of online sales or the test is a good way to counter this by bringing another source of image information, while assessing the capabilities of a sales person.

What tasks and profiles online sales are to accomplish? My feeling is that you must do three things: First, they should tell if the seller can sell. "Can" actually refers to whether or not the capacity or the ability to conduct a sales job. Secondly, the person who sells? "Will" is really a question of whether or not motivated. There are a lot of people out there who can really sell, but it will not. It has nothing to do with their ability or skills, but everything to do with their motivation. A good sales test will tell you not only if the person can sell, but if they are motivated to sell for your company, for example, they have to possess the fundamental characteristics, skills and motivations in order to sell. The third and equally important element to online sales largely on evidence was whether a candidate's skills in sales, the style and system sales in line with your company needs. This relates to the market rate that is, the number of competitors that is, the type of sales cycle, if the seller will keep the current account, only the hunt for new business, or both. All the different attributes of your work particular must obtain a profile of the tool, and then match the experience and skills of the person on your particular requirements and selection criteria.

When sales work tests? People who sell advocate that you should use as a screening tool prior to consider increasing a candidate. I advise against it. I typically use the tool if you suspect that a candidate is viable and I have interviewed and developed my own sense of their profile and history achievement. Wait until there is sufficient evidence to justify the investment in testing online sales.

It is a test sales a panacea? Of course not. Many times we canceled the celebration of the sales evidence and made a decision different from the conclusion that we were given. What proof do sales, is to give another set of information objective and another point of view of the candidate. Normally what we do, it is used for catching any blind spots or expose other issues that may have missed as a team through the interview process sales.
